Dr. Debbie Ging is Chair of the BA in Communications Studies and teaches a range of modules across the Communications and Multimedia undergraduate programmes and on the MA in Film and Television Studies, including Perspectives on Culture, Analysing Advertising, Ireland and National Cinema and Media, Identity and Interculturalism in Ireland. Her main research interests are in the area of cinema, gender and interculturalism, and she recently completed a doctoral thesis on the subject of marginalised masculinities in contemporary Irish cinema. Debbie is a founder member of the Working Group on Media and Interculturlalism, has designed and delivered a media training project for minority-ethnic groups within the School of Communications and is a founder member of the DCU Working Group on the Finglas for Diversity project.
