Dr Helena Sheehan is a philosopher and teaches on most of the school's undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Her modules include: world views, history of ideas, social history and television drama, critical perspectives on science. Her publications include books entitled: Marxism and the Philosophy of Science: A Critical History, Irish Television Drama: A Society and Its Stories and Tracking the Tiger. She is working on new books entitled: The Shifting Shapes of TV Drama, The Rise of the Repressed in the History of Knowledge and Navigating the Zeitgeist As well as in her writing, she addresses topics on philosophy, politics and media on television, radio, newspapers and in multimedia production. She was a visiting academic at University of Cape Town in 2001.
