Making a Difference through Maths
Run by DCU in the Community, Ballymun, in partnership with Grant Thornton. |
Maths in the Community programme was launched in April 2011. The programme aims to "make a difference through Maths" by working with local parents and students. Maths for Parents course was launched on pilot basis in June 2011, with parent-groups referred by local primary and secondary schools, as well as community organisations, such as the Drop in Well Centre and the Ballymun Job Centre. The programme for parents focus on basic Maths skills, as well as everyday personal finance. The aim is to “de-mystify” Maths for the participating parents and build their confidence.
