Civic Engagement: Core Mission
"Engagement with the wider community must become more firmly embedded in the mission of higher education institutions. Higher education institutions need to become more firmly embedded in the social and economic contexts of the communities they live in and serve" (National Strategy for Higher Education to 2030)
As part of its commitment to the social and economic well-being of the community DCU has developed an active Civic Engagement mission. A major expression of this commitment is our outreach centre DCU in the Community as well as various Other Initiatives around local and global development issues.
