Residential & Teaching Assistant Positions
Each summer we host two 3-week and two 2-week sessions for second level students. The programmes attracts over 800 students, who live on campus or commute, while participating in their chosen course. We also run week long, dayclasses for primary school students during the weeks of July. These course run in DCU and selected Centres around the country (to be decided).
We are currently recruiting both Residential and Teaching Assistants to work on these courses.

The Residential Assistant Post (on programmes for 12-17 year olds) – Dublin City University
The role of the Residential Assistant is to work directly with students when they are not in class. This involves ensuring that students are settling in, making friends, and are enjoying the non-academic elements of the programme. RAs are essentially youth leaders. They are also responsible for organising the social events, but primarily their role is to ensure that students are safe and secure.
Accommodation and board is provided for RAs, as this is a live-in post (with days off obviously).
On any programme, RAs typically begin work on the Saturday before the programme starts. They conclude at lunchtime on the Friday that the programme ends.
Two days of orientation are organised for Residential Assistants. Attendance at these is compulsory. These days are provisionally set for Saturday June 9th & Saturday June 23rd.
Residential Assistants are required for both two and three week programmes. Salaries are as follows.
The Teaching Assistant Post (on programmes for 12-17 year olds) – Dublin City University
Teaching Assistants work with students in the classroom alongside the course instructor. Their job is to act as a support to the students, helping them out with their course material, projects etc. Teaching Assistants also supervise the study period in the evening period.
Lunch and Dinner is provided for TAs.
Each day TAs work from 9.00am – 3.00pm (except for lunch 12-1), and 6.30 – 8.30pm. TAs begin on the Monday morning that the programme begins and finish at lunchtime on the final Friday.
Orientation for TAs will be held on Saturday, June 23rd. Attendance at this is compulsory.
Teaching Assistants are required for both two and three week programmes. Salaries are as follows.
The Young Student Teaching Assistant Post (on programmes for 6-12 year olds) – Dublin City University & selected Centres
Young Student Teaching Assistants work with children on our primary school programme as they participate in day classes. Within the classroom YSTAs work alongside the instructor helping to keep the course moving at a good pace and ensuring that all students are stimulated and challenged. YSTAs work with their own groups of children both academically within the classroom, but also non-academically, making sure that they get to and from class safely, dealing with any illness, supervising breaks, and dealing with any misbehaviour.
Our programmes for primary school children run during the month of July. We are currently recruiting Teaching Assistants to work with these classes in DCU, UCC, GMIT, UL & Wexford (Carlow IT campus in Wexford town).
YSTA orientation takes place on Saturday, July 3rd, and is compulsory.
