Biography:

Dr. Regina Connolly is a Senior Lecturer in Management Information Systems at DCU Business School. She has responsibility for postgraduate courses in Information Systems in the Business School and is director of the MSc in Electronic Commerce degree programme. She also serves on Academic Council and on the University Research Ethics Committee.  In her undergraduate degree she received the Kellogg award for outstanding dissertation and in 1997 was awarded an MSc degree with distinction. She received her PhD in Information Systems from Trinity College, Dublin.

Dr. Connolly is Professor Invité at H.E.C European Business School, Paris and at the University of Angers, France. She has been a keynote speaker at several conferences and is a guest lecturer at the University of Cremona, Italy; the Mediterranean University of Science and Technology, Valencia, Spain; the University of Mostar, Bosnia Herzegovina, and Trinity College, Dublin.  She acts as external PhD examiner for the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium and is external examiner for MIS programmes at Trinity College Dublin and University College Cork. 

 

Dr. Connolly is an expert evaluator for the European Commission and has served on the expert eCommerce advisory group for Dublin Chamber of Commerce, which has advised national government on eCommerce strategic planning. She is a member of the eCommerce advisory board for Scottish & Southern Energy, UK, and is a director of CCOMMS, which provides video over IP networks conferencing technology services. 

Dr. Connolly is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Internet Commerce, Associate Editor of the European Journal of Information Systems, Senior Editor of Information Systems Management and Associate Editor of the International Journal of Advanced Decision Sciences.  In addition, she is programme co-chair for the 2013 European Conference on Information Systems. She has received funding awards for her research in medical informatics including the Villanova University Research Excellence Award of Merit. 

In 2008, Dr. Connolly was appointed by the Minister for Health and Children, Mary Harney, T.D., to the Medical Council of Ireland.
