The School of Education Studies in conjunction Educate Together will host a Workshop with Prof. John Portelli of Toronto University entitled " The Curriculum of Life" on Saturday October 15th at 9.30am in Room C163.

John P. Portelli is Professor and Co-Director of the Centre for Leadership and Diversity, Department of Theory and Policy Studies at OISE, University of Toronto. His research and teaching interests are in democratic values and educational policy, leadership and pedagogy; student engagement and the curriculum of life; standardization, equity and "students at risk". He has published several books (including two collections of poetry). His latest book, co-authored with Rosemary Campbell Stephens, is titled Leading for Equity (2009).

Curriculum of Life

Prof Portelli's workshop will focus on the Curriculum of Life concept. Participants will learn about his work in the area and will be encouraged to explore their own ideas, values and practice.
