The TUI Award for Excellence in Teaching & Learning is presented each year in recognition of outstanding achievment in school placement. This years recipient was John Heeney (Graduate Diploma in Education) who received a cheque for 500 euro from TUI President Ms. Bernie Ruane. As part of the module in Curriculum and Assessment John initiated an action research project on the Leaving Certificate Applied programme in St. Oliver's CBS Drogheda. The Principal and Management of St. Olivers were so impressed with his research that they have decided to implement some of John's recommendations in the school. John was nominated for the award by his school principal, fellow students and academic staff in Education Studies.
