Researchers Development Programme

Introduction

Research is a core activity in DCU and the university’s researchers have a pivotal role to play in the wider community. The university recognises the importance of supporting the career and professional development of all researchers. DCU is taking strategic steps to support the development of its research community by providing a Researchers Development Programme. The proposed programme aims to provide core skills (e.g. leadership, interpersonal and analytical skills) to enable growth both personally and professionally. Focus group discussions have been conducted with research staff to identify areas for development. The information from these focus group discussions is provided in the link below.

The first part of the Researchers Development Programme entitled 'Understanding the Research Environment at DCU' took place on the 29th and 30th of September 2005. This consisted of four modules. These modules aimed to provide information regarding the research environment and the internal resources and support available to those involved in research.
