Supervising the PhD process- Skills Development

The Graduate Studies office, together with the Training & Development section of Human Resources have designed the following programme to support PhD supervisors in developing excellent researchers. 

Dates & course duration:
The programme will be delivered over three half days and participants will need to attend all parts of the programme. 

Dates:
10th January 2012, 9.30 a.m. - 1.00 p.m. - Day 1
17th January 2012, 9.30 a.m. - 1.00 p.m. - Day 2
31st January 2012, 9.30 a.m. - 1.00 p.m. - Day 3

The aims of the programme are to:
•  develop an understanding of the role of the supervisor
•  practice supervisory skills including giving feedback, coaching students and managing diversity
•  provide information on DCU’s procedures around supervision.

Target Audience: 
The programme will benefit staff who are supervising PhD students. 

Delivered by: 
Leading academics and experts in the field of supervision and managing in an academic environment.
