Pre-departure Checklist

Here is a checklist of some of the key things that you should think about as you prepare to come to DCU:

• Ensure that your funding for the year is in place
• Arrange for your Visa if you require one
• Arrangements for payment of tuition fees and bring evidence of payment
• Accommodation application
• Arrangements for payment of accommodation
• Arrangements for sending luggage ahead
• Airport pick up service/getting to DCU
• Health insurance
• Travellers cheques/Money for initial arrival period
• Arrangements for money transfers to the Ireland
• Reconfirm your flight to the Ireland

On Arrival

If you come from outside the EU/EEA you will be requested to complete a landing card with your personal details. You will need to hand this in to the Immigration Officer at Passport Control in Dublin Airport. You may also be asked for the following documents which we advise you to have in your hand luggage so they can be checked quickly and easily.

Important Documents for Non-EU Students to bring:

• Passport
• Entry Visa (if applicable)
• Evidence of Private Health Insurance
• Acceptance letter from the Registry in DCU
• Letter from DCU, stating that you have paid your fees in full

Important Documents for EU/EEA Students to bring:

• Passport
• European Health Insurance Card
• Acceptance letter from the Registry in DCU

Once you have cleared immigration you may collect your luggage and proceed to Customs. There are three routes: a green route if you have nothing to declare, a red route if you have something to declare and a blue route if you are an EU citizen.

Accommodation
