After completing my B.A. at the University of New Mexico in the United States and spending a year abroad teaching English, I came to DCU to pursue a Master’s in Intercultural Studies. The programme was perfect for me because it combined general theory courses with specific case studies and practical applications for working as an Interculturalist. Beyond that, the class itself was truly a multinational learning environment, with both students and professors from all over the world! Working together and socialising with people from a variety of backgrounds really solidified the theories I was learning and helped me to analyse my personal experiences. DCU equipped me with first-hand practice dealing with intercultural situations and prepared me to start my career path.

Starting with the DCU International Foundation Course, I followed on by taking a Bachelor of Business Studies Degree. DCU boasts a top-level team of lecturers and excellent faculty. Our Programme Chair, besides teaching, gave me a lot of excellent advice in selecting postgraduate courses, attending career fairs and planning my personal future. After four years of a great student life in DCU, I had acquired various skills that enabled me to build a sound foundation for my postgraduate studies as well as a successful beginning in my career. As a winner of a competition organized by a multinational group, I was chosen from more than 2000 candidates to be an International Trainee and am now working in USA.

I found DCU to be a young, active and creative University. The most impressive thing during my study in DCU was the spirit of teamwork. I learnt how to communicate with team members and how to co-operate with them. These practices in DCU helped me a lot in my job, as it’s very important to be a good team member.
