Irish Education

“The education system in Ireland is one of the best in the world”
2007 Independent IMD World Competitiveness Report.

Education has a long and honourable tradition in Ireland and is considered a fundamental right in our constitution. As a result of a sustained investment in this area Ireland now has one of the highest educational participation rates in the world - 81% of Irish students complete second-level and approx 60% go on to higher education.

This dynamic, educated population has made its mark at home and abroad with international companies looking to Ireland again and again when hiring graduates for top class positions.

Responsibility for education lies within the Department of Education and Science. Source: www.educationireland.ie

Life in Dublin

Dublin City University is situated on an 85 acre campus three miles north of the River Liffey in the city centre and just a 15-minute drive from Dublin airport. With the city just a 10-minute bus drive away, students of DCU have the best of both worlds: the social and cultural benefits of city life, but with the security and vibrancy of a university campus built very much for today.
