NFTE All-Island Youth Entrepreneurship Awards
The Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) who are based in Invent held their All Island Youth Entrepreneurship Graduation & Awards 2011 Ceremony took at the Helix, DCU, on Thursday May 5th 2011 with almost 1,000 young people from Donegal, Belfast, Limerick, Thurles and Dublin taking to the stage to graduate from this entrepreneurship education programme which is delivered through schools and youth centres.
Kyle McMahon (aged 18) a student attending Bonnybrook Youthreach in Coolock was announced as Youth Entrepreneur of the Year 2011. The talented entrepreneur used his passion for working with wood to carve out his own pathway to prosperity by manufacturing handcrafted wooden toys. His products include a clock, airplane and jigsaw range.
The Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) is a cutting edge, world recognised, youth education and development programme. It is managed and provided by Foróige in Ireland and is affiliated to NFTE International. Research shows that the NFTE Programme not only increases participants business knowledge but also increases interest in further education and career aspirations as well as supporting a significant number of young entrepreneurs to continue running a business.
