Management Skills Expert Aidan Fitzmaurice joins Invent Resident Expert Panel – 15th May 2009

Invent DCU is delighted to welcome businessman Aidan Fitzmaurice to join its Resident Expert Panel. Aidan is an experienced tech-sector manager with the experience and expertise to help you to identify and build a range of management skills in your business. Aidan will focus his support to you around three key activities:

1. Project Management
2. Product Management
3. Process Analysis & Design

According to Aidan, “As your business grows, so do the demands for management skills from you and the people that started out with you. Not everyone has management skills or wants the responsibility for managing activities. However, someone has to be responsible for the business and its projects, otherwise who’s controlling the risk, managing the budgets, allocating the resources and assessing the likelihood of success at any given time”.

Aidan has worked for and with several major companies such as IBM, AIB, Ernst & Young, Bank of Ireland and Cognotec. Aidan has also managed a number of small and medium sized Irish businesses.

Aidan is also happy to discuss other general management requirements, e.g. managing staff, communications, programme management (for larger organisations), organisational structures, data protection and security responsibilities.
