Marketing for Technology Start ups Seminar delivered by Denise Doran
– 11th February 2010
Invent DCU was delighted to welcome back DCU graduate Denise Doran to deliver a marketing seminar on 11th February 2010. The seminar was entitled “Practical Marketing for Technology Start-ups” and it certainly lived up to its name. Denise delivered a no-nonsense, concise overview of current marketing challenges and how technology start-ups respond to them.
She listed the top marketing mistakes for high tech start-ups as too much emphasis on product development, failure to conduct relevant market research and the inability to compose compelling marketing messages.
According to Denise, for technology start ups, exploratory marketing is key! Denise pointed out that the whole goal of marketing is to make money for your business. Potential customers may want your product, but if you do not know about it they cannot buy it. The world has changed significantly in the last 10 years and the way we market our products and services must respond and adapt to this changing environment.
