The Information Systems and Services Department consists of three divisions:

ISS Service Desk

Manager: Justin Doyle

The ISS Service Desk area provides ICT and AV support and services to staff and students within DCU. In particular the section provides dedicated first and second level support to users of computing facilities and services across the DCU campus.

SD Services provides individual advice, remote/deskside/service desk assistance, computer laboratory management and maintenance as well as induction, training, workshop services, Assistive technology and AV services to staff and students. Working with the other areas within ISS, SD Services works to ensure the successful implementation of new technologies, as they become available.

Business Systems and Applications

Manager: Ian Bell

The Business Systems and Applications team deliver core business and web applications to DCU and its linked colleges including the DCU web site, Student Administration Systems, Finance Systems, Human Resource Systems, Research Support Systems, on-line Information collection and dissemination systems, Staff and Student portals.

The team provide core services such as user support, development, project management, implementation and relationship management across the university.

Infrastructure and Networks

Manager: Fergus Donohue

The Infrastructure and Networks area deliver the core ICT Infrastructure Services to DCU and its linked colleges including voice and data connectivity, server infrastructure and maintenance, and the delivery of core services such as user account management and staff and student email.

The area is also responsible for the roll out and maintenance of the DCU desktop infrastructure for Staff and Students, encompassing the specification of PC and Mac hardware, the procurement and deployment of the necessary software, and the provision of tools to support and maintain this infrastructure.
