DCU has published ICT Policies and Guidelines which all university users are obliged to adhere to. These documents outline university Policy as well as advising on practical ways that all members of the university can help to protect the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of university information technology resources.

IT Security Incidents are reported every year the most numerous of those being Computer Viruses and all users of the university network have a responsibility to ensure that they have taken all possible steps to avoid infection by computer viruses, whether they are using university owned or privately owned machines.
