In June 2005 we installed 2 specialised mail firewall appliances supplied by Spamtitan of Copperfasten Technologies.

They are set up in a similar architecture to our previous home grown solution and have a similar software set up using postfix, amavisd-new, spamassassin, and clamAV.

However this solution is more sophisticated and offers many new advantages to mail users

• suspected spam/virus is quarantined before it reaches your mailbox
• ability to manage personal white lists and black lists
• receive scheduled reports detailing quarantined mail
