RefWorks

Login to RefWorks / create an account

RefWorks is an online tool for saving references from the library catalogue, databases and many other sources. You can then use the RefWorks plugin in Microsoft Word to quickly and easily manage your citing and referencing in whatever style you want (Harvard, MLA, Vancouver etc.).

Learn to use RefWorks

Before you start using RefWorks you should have experience with:
1. citing and referencing. Learn more about it from our Lets Cite tutorial and our Citing & Referencing Guide
2. using the library's online search tools like the catalogue and our journal databases. To learn more about this, see our Lets Begin and Lets Find tutorials.

  • Learn on your own: print out this guide and follow the instructions to learn how to use RefWorks. It will take you about forty minutes to complete.
  • Learn in a library workshop: during term time, the library runs a one hour RefWorks workshop every week. No booking necessary - just turn up. Here you will be given a print copy of our RefWorks guide which you then work through at your own pace. A library staff member will be on hand to answer questions and help you if needed. PCs are provided but you can bring your own laptop if you're prefer.
