As the university has grown considerably in recent years and as an increasing number of campus companies have come on board, linkages with other academic institutions have been formalised etc., the formulation of a system that would help to manage our portfolio of related brands now and in the future was identified as a core aim of our 2008 brand review.
With this in mind, the DCU brand matrix was developed, to establish a framework to resolve branding and design issues when creating communications with partner institutions and collaborative initiatives.
All visual expressions of the DCU brand fall somewhere within this matrix. Level one applications (i.e. those closest to the centre) are most strongly branded with the DCU brand mark, while subsequent levels accommodate the varying degrees of co-branded and sub-branded applications that the university requires today.
Specific stationery templates, brochure cover treatments and design treatments relate to each level of the DCU brand matrix. Further details of these are outlined under the "DCU stationery system” and “DCU Brochure/Publication covers system” links to the left.
