Physics research in DCU

research activitiesResearch activities in the School of Physical Sciences cover fundamental and applied experimental work and are complemented by theoretical studies. Funding is from state, industry and the EU. A lively and cosmopolitan body of research workers comprises up to twenty five students and ten post-doctorates from ten or more countries. Research Centres in the School of Physical Sciences Physics research at DCU encompasses plasmas, atomic physics and laser plasmas, computation physics (applied to plasmas), optical sensors, semiconductors and astrophysics, astronomy and surface physics. Much of the work is carried out in collaboration with researchers elsewhere in the European Union.
