About the Skillnet

The Entrepreneur Skillnet is a network of small and medium sized enterprises with an entrepreneurial focus. Member companies use the network to avail of grant assisted training and networking opportunities for their owners, managers and staff. We believe that entrepreneurs need not only to improve their own skills but also the skills of their teams, if they are to grow and be successful in today's business environment. In keeping with the current focus of Skillnets, we also offer FREE training places to the unemployed.

Member companies are requested to complete a training needs analysis form on joining the Entrepreneur Skillnet and are kept up to date with the programmes on offer through regular newsletters and the website.

About Skillnets

Skillnets Limited, an enterprise-led publicly funded body, was established in 1999 to support the development of workplace skills. Skillnets works with groups of companies across regions and sectors to provide quality training as a key element in sustaining Ireland's national competitiveness.

Skillnets supports and funds networks of enterprises to engage in training under the Training Networks Programme (TNP). These enterprise networks are led and managed by the enterprises themselves to design, manage and deliver specific training programmes across a broad range of industry and service sectors nationwide.
In the Training Networks Programme (TNP) 2010/11 over 60 Skillnets networks are also providing training to job-seekers, who are training with those in employment. By training with those in employment, job-seekers can access networking opportunities and keep up to date with their sector while participating in relevant industry-specific training programmes.

A Skillnets network (e.g. the Entrepreneur Skillnet) is a group of companies that come together to carry out cross-organisational training related activities which may not be possible on their own. Companies jointly address their training needs, collaborate with other enterprises, and engage experts, trainers, certifying bodies, industry bodies and others to work with them to achieve their goals.
