Course Requirements:

The criteria for successful completion of this course are:

  1. Full attendance record
  2. Full Participation
  3. Active work on implementing various techniques and strategies between sessions
  4. Your demonstration of self-evaluation skills, and ability to move forward

Course Rewards:

All candidates will receive a certificate from DCU and your school acknowledging your completion of this Programme, at a reception held at the end of the Academic Year. Students are encouraged to incorporate this in with your C.V. (Note: Feedback from employers at Intra and Employment Level has been extremely positive and favorable towards students who have undertaken this programme in the past).

Notification of Course Place: Students successful in securing a course place will be notified by: 1) lists placed on Student Support & Development notice board in the Pavilion building, outside Room PG02, 2) by post.

Time Requirement: 35 hours of group contact time spread over a period of 14 weeks, (8 weeks in semester one and 6 weeks in semester two). Each session is two and a half hours in duration, including a coffee break, with one session per week. These sessions are held on Wednesdays from 5.00pm – 7.30pm.

  • Demand is high for this course, therefore it is advised to take care in completing the application form and that it be handed in on time.
  • Due to demand, application does not automatically secure a course place, though every effort will be made to facilitate each application.
  • It is essential that you do not apply if you cannot attend 90%+ of the 14 sessions, which will take place in DCU on Wednesday evenings from 5.00pm - 7.30pm
  • A certificate from DCU will be presented at a reception held at the end of semester two to all students who are successful in completing the programme.
  • It is worth noting that employers’ feedback to this course is extremely positive and viewed as significant and vital training for graduates to hold.
  • Successful applicants will be divided into groups of 20/22 students. The learning will be workshop not lecture in style and presentation. So be ready for fun and games!
