Elite Sportspersons Entry Scheme Undergraduate Entry: September 2012

Dublin City University has put in place an entrance scheme for elite sportspersons for its undergraduate degree courses. A number of places will be reserved for outstanding candidates who have achieved a very high level of sporting performance, and who are committed to continuing to develop their sporting and academic careers. This is a major new initiative for DCU. It builds on the special entrance scheme in place in a limited way over the past few years in the BSc (Hon) in Sport Science and Health and the BSc (Hon) in Athletic Therapy and Training.

Please note: This is not a Sports Scholarship application. A separate application for Sports Scholarship must be made to Yvonne O’Connor, Sport and Recreation Officer.

Application forms are available from http://www.dcu.ie/studentsport/scholarships.shtml

The Disability Access Route to Education (DARE)

The Disability Access Route to Education (DARE) is a college and university admissions scheme which offers places on a reduced points basis to school leavers with disabilities. DARE has been set up by a number of colleges and universities as evidence shows that disability can have a negative effect on how well a student does at school and whether they go on to college.

DARE is for school leavers who have the ability to benefit from and succeed in higher education but who may not be able to meet the points for their preferred course due to the impact of their disability.
