Introduction to Workshop Programme 2011-2012

Welcome to our very popular and enjoyable DCU Disability and Learning Support Study Skills Workshop programme.

The Disability and Learning Support Service has designed a personal service for students registered with us. Our individual and small group learning support sessions are the springboard from which you become an independent learner. Attendance is by appointment. Returning students are welcome.

We require new students who have registered with the Disability and Learning Support Service to attend at least 3 study skills sessions as these are an integral part of the supports we offer.

We have designed the workshops especially for you, so that you get the most out of the support available to you. Also, it means we get to know you and your particular needs at the beginning of the academic year.

We aim to help our students overcome individual learning differences, so we will concentrate on the most relevant strategies which help you with:

Time Management
Taking Notes
Reading techniques
Written work
Exam preparation

Remember if you wish to be eligible for subject specific tuition you need to have attended these Sessions

If you would like further help with any strategies introduced in the small group sessions, you are welcome to make an appointment to see the Learning Support Officer.
