Biographical Details

Greg Foley has BE and PhD degrees from UCD and an MS degree from Cornell University. He is a senior lecturer in the School of Biotechnology and is currently the Associate Dean for Teaching and Learning in the Faculty of Science and Health. He is a chemical engineer and his main area of technical expertise is membrane technology. He is the author of Membrane Filtration - A Problem solving approach with MATLAB (Cambridge, 2013) and 37 papers in international journals. His Google Scholar Profile is available here.

Greg is also interested in:

Nanotechnology, specifically the production of nanoparticles using laser ablation. This work is done in collaboration with Brian Freeland and Dermot Brabazon.

Pedagogy, especially the development of 21st century approaches to engineering computation, but also the challenges involved in delivering interdisciplinary degree programmes

Education policy, an area in which he has written and spoken extensively, both in his blog, and in the national media, both print and radio. He has also appeared before the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Education and Social Protection (2016).
